WHY agencies never reply?? on September 12, 2013 @ 7:02 pmReport this post as inappropriate#1

Many of them....we write, noone no replies.....
Other artists say that the same happened to them..

It' s not so hard to reply.

It's a way to be kind. We are just looking for job, but often we don't have it.
We would like some answer, at least.

Is it too much to ask??

Thank you

Greetings

Hi and thank you for your posting. This is a very interesting issue, and I understand your frustration, but that could be due not only to a matter of "kindness"...

I would take the opportunity to write down here the names of the employers that never replied to you. Some of our listed employers may be either "dormant" or no longer active on the site, which is not good and they must be manually removed from our database, so any more information is very welcome.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for bringing this up to our attention!

Sincerely,

Just my 2 cent!

Actually 50% of the time, I do receive a kind reply, even if it's negative. When I do not here back, I just assume there is no interest whatsoever in my act, even for the future, which is fine with me or I made a bad impression with a wrong presentation!

What I think is really important, is how the approach is made. If you are professional and respectful, you will be treated as such. Most of the time I see musicians and artists in general just dropping an youTube link or just copy-past the some general word to anyone. They can feel that and just ignore you. Showing you made a bit of research with a personal approch definitely will pay off.

I know, hunting for job as a musician is very tiring and stressful . . don't tell me but hey, money don't fall from the blue sky, do they?

Good like to all

I understand what you mean... I think many employers may get several applications and they simply don't take the time to followup with each applicant. And even if they get just 1 application, they may not reply either (i.e. they found someone else, they are not interested in hiring you, etc).

Of course, it would be much more "polite" to followup to each applicants, and we strongly advise doing that... I would personally do that if I were an employer posting a job!

So... if a job poster posts a job and don't reply to applicants, that may be clearly just lack of politeness. If instead you send messages and they don't reply, they may be either no polite or "dormant". We don't want to have dormant users on MP, so if you find any employer not answering your inquiries via the messaging system, please post their names on this forum thread and we'll take care of the rest.

Thank you for your cooperation!

I understand everyone's concern here, but replying to each and every person individually is not an easy task as they may get hundred of request daily and replying to each and every one is practically not possible. So, many agencies do reply to the suitable one.
You may also get some email stating that buy this product, but do you reply to them , if you not need them?

I make an example.
Some agency wrote to me.
"Hello we have an opening for a duo in XXX,are you available?"
My reply "yes we are. May we know something more about it?"
Agency disappear.....

Or after i applied on their site i just ask "when will we know anything about this job?if the hotel is interested in us?"
Agency doesn't reply.

Do you think this is correct?

i understand when they don't reply to the "almost spam" mails , but i think they
to the personal ones. It's matter of courtesy....one day they could have a very urgent need and someone could react the same way.
