New to this.  What's the best, most economical way to start out advertising yourself on the web?

Of course, it depends on what your are advertising yourself as: if you are searching for private students, I am not sure what you should do, but if you are seeking gigs, don't do what I did and that is learn the hard way. Immediately get your site linked to as many gig sites as you can. I know that it is money up front. At first, I did not think I could afford it, but then learned that the more sites you are on, the more people find you. The other thing is to really give fabulous service once the client does find you. Type in Ribbons & Strings Ensembles into Google or Yahoo and see how many times we come up. This has taken 5 years to get to this point because I put off serious advertising. Now I have us listed in as many places as I know of and the results are finally great. My two cents worth.

Not sure if you want to promote your music or get some gigs but we promote bands from all over the world on our website (Rockstar). I am the owner so let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
