Rachmaninoff plays his own Concert 3 in 1939. Look for it in youtube.com

Remember in those years all orquestra was recorded with only one microphone at stage.

Sergei Rachmaninov was born in Russia in 1873. and died in 1943.

Hello:

 

I tried to play Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto, and it was very hard, especially the final movement where the large hands are required to perform it.

Recently the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra (TSO.org) featured Mary Scott Goode in that performance. She teaches at Texarkana College, if you want to reach her.  She was magnificent.
