Hi Guys,

A few months ago I posted a job opportunity for the world's first Digital Composer-in-Residence. We were inundated with hundreds of entries from 23 countries and it has taken weeks for the judges to listen to the pieces and decide on their favourites. I am now able to announce the three finalists: Aaron Gervais from Canada, David T. Little from the USA and Chiayu also from the USA. We have also just finished recording the three pieces with the London Sinfonietta and they will be available to listen to on our webiste next Tuesday (20th October), which is also when the online voting begins. You get to decide who will be our Digital Composer-in-Residence and i would also love to hear what you think of the pieces so please feel free to leave your comments on the pieces here as well voting on the site. The winner will be announced at our live event in London on the 5th Novemeber.

Once again thank you for all of you who entered the contest and have a listen to the pieces on Tuesday and let me know what you think of them.

Dear Matt,
I am so glad to know you got many contacts. Has any of the applicants on Musicians Page be chosen? If so, could you please award your job to them? Or, anyway, could you take a moment to close your job so that musicians know that your inquiry has been closed?

Please, let me know if you can do that.

Thank you again and congratulations for your results.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Dear Patrick,

I am sorry you feel that way about the competition. Please be assured that all of the entries we received for the competition were listened to and went through a rigorous judging criteria.

I can only apologise on behalf of the team that you did not receive the email we sent last week to all of the entrants, and once again stress that all of the entries we received were carefully considered and that every entrant was subject to the same criteria.

I hope this answers your concerns, and if you would like to discuss this further feel free to contact me at info@dilettantemusic.com.

Matt

Hi Fabrizio,

The posting on this site really helped increase the number of entries we got which was great. Unfortunately none of the applicants from musicians page were chosen as the finalists but as I said we had so many high quality entries that it was incredibly hard to for the judges to narrow it down to three finalists. I closed the job posting a while ago, i hope i did it correctly.

Thanks,

Matt

I am very glad to know that Matt. The next time will be probably better to "close" your job instead than "delete" it, that way it will remain on the site without accepting further applications. That will be good for you because a "closed" job remains also in your job posted history and will increase your rating on the site.

Thank you and good luck with your venture!

All the best,

Fabrizio
