This summer I’m trying to branch out on the type of festivals I usually go to - I tend to go to rock, indie, etc. orientated festivals. I play the drums and in the past few months I’ve started playing jazz music. I love jazz drumming now, the rhythms and complexity of the taps/fills I’ve learnt are addictive and it’s got me really into jazz music now. My band play rock music but for some of the our slower, mellow songs, to keep things fresh I’ve brought in some jazz drumming to experiment with.
I’ve been doing a bit of research into what jazz festivals are around. One festival that a friend recommended to me was Scarborough Jazz Festival. Has anyone been to this festival, is it worth going to? What other jazz festivals are out there that I should also consider. I don’t think I would go for a whole weekend, but I would definitely want go for a day to get a feeling of what a jazz festival is all about and also learn more about jazz music. | ||||||||

| I didn't grow up listening to Jazz, but I'm starting to become a fan.. To have a deep understanding of Jazz music, can anyone refer to me any Jazz artists to listen to for a start? ___________________________________________ These blogs keep the fire of music burning in me: | ||||||||
