George Shearing Trio plays The Shadow of your Smile by Johnny Mandel in Tokyo 1990.

Notice the Bach's influences in improvisation... And Final Cadenze (Jesus Joy of man's desirings).
Shearing was born blind in London 1919. He moved to U.S.A in 1949.
He created a new style in piano performance with melody played in chord blocks, the Searing Style.

Wow, Alberto, what a great video you found. I love George Shearing - he's one of my fave jazz pianists of all time. His playing, for me, creates a whole mood, an atmosphere. I could live in that atmosphere. Thanks for posting this.
