I have maintained a full violin/viola studio for thirty years, and have noticed in the past few years that I have adopted some changes.  I'm wondering what other teachers have been doing too, and think this would make for an interesting discussion thread.

To get the ball rolling, a few years ago I the first major change I made was to set up a studio website.  The best part of having my website, is the capability for online lesson booking.  It does take some time at the beginning of each school year to set everything up in the online booking calendar, when I post scheduled lessons and available slots.  But the result has been that I no longer have parents calling me all the time to reschedule lessons.   The parents actually now have a little more freedom to juggle lessons around, but they just do it online.   The online booking also allows for really easy record keeping and invoicing.

There are many ways to do set up a studio site, but I stumbled across www.musicteachershelper.com while web surfing one day, and had my own site up and running, as a free trial to test out with three fictitious students, in about 10 minutes!  I quickly became a monthly  subscriber, and love it.  But I have come across other studio sites online that were built in other ways.

Looking forward to hearing what's new,
