| Chris Medina started playing the piano at age 5. His early mentors included the brilliant Pilar Ancheta of Peabody Music Institute in Baltimore. Having been born in Manila, his early and formative schooling at the Ateneo was subsequently followed by collegiate/niversity courses in both St. Greg's university in Ok., USA, and Loyola College in Montreal, Canada.It was during his college years that he ventured into live performance playing for intimate supper clubs and 5 star hotels both in Montreal (Hotel du la MOntagne, Ritz Hotel Johnny's at the Bar,) where he played to sold out crowds and became an after work destination for corporate types and head honchos of Mtl based companies and Vancouver ( Hotel Vancouver, Westin Bayshore, Palisades, Denman Place) A few years after he was offered the Princess Cruises, and became the first featured artist of Filipino descent to grace the stellar ranks of the entertainment line up. Medina stayed with them for 4 years and saw all their destinations. The next phase was his foray into Europe. He started off with the Carlton Tower in London and then the Sara Hotel chain in Scandinavia...Hotel Sara in Oslo, Norway...Britannia, Trondheim Norway, Sara Reisen Stockholm, Europa Gothenburg, plus a couple of engagments in Dennmark and Finland.Holland, Greece, Italy, and Spain have also figured prominently in his performance circuit in Europe.
Currently, Medina is back on his home roots base and working on a definitive CD of his art. Recently concluded a 4 month engagement at Mandarin Hotel with his trio, he is now considering worthwhile offers consistent with his experience and mastery of his craft. Busy with convention shows and private elegant parties, he continues to give genuine joy and memorable nights to his multifaceted audience.
