Susan Lukito Resume

      A consummate entertainer, singer/guitarist Sue Lukito interacts with her audience and can suit many tastes, as she performs various styles including pop, folk, blues, country, Latin styles and jazz standards. With a repertoire of over 300 songs, Sue is guaranteed to delight every audience and cater to their musical requests and desires including
singing in English, Spanish and Portuguese.She is a competent guitarist and can perform classical and Spanish guitar, folk, pop, rock and jazz, either solo or with a band.
Lukito was born in Philadelphia to a musical family. She began playing guitar at age 13, becoming a virtuoso classical guitarist under the expert direction of Phillip Covelli.
Her professional musical career began at age 18. Sue moved to Boston at age 20 and studied at Berklee School of Music, as well as continuing her classical guitar studies at the New England Conservatory of Music. Sue has studied Brazilian and jazz guitar with Ricardo Peixoto, Steve Erquiga, and taught guitar lessons at the House of Woodwinds music store in San Ramon for 9 years.
Sue has been a part of the San Francisco Bay Area music scene for many years and has played at many restaurants and wine bars including the San Franciscan, Bella Vino, Corks, Bridges, Forli, Marcello's, Peasant and the Pear, Faz and the Concannon, McGrail &Wente Wineries, Cal State East Bay, Harbor Bay & Larkspur Landing & Concord's Music at Noon Concert Series, as well as private events.
She leads the party rock band Sue and the Lawyers. Sue is involved in the art of looping and solo playing, and has an extensive library of backing tracks that make for full sound, even when playing solo. Additionally, she performs acoustic music of the 70's on up to the latest hits as well as original compositions. She plays and sings jazz standards in a solo or duo arrangement with her band Sweet Sue and the Jazz Cats a hip, funky jazz group with an upbeat groove.
Fun and personable, Sue brings the audience together for a shared musical experience that is memorable and uplifting.
