Dirty Bird Dirty Bird Creative Page
Dirty Bird pays tribute to the "best of" the 80's, 90's and 2000's including Aerosmith, Black Crowes, Def Leppard, U2, Guns N Roses, Sublime, Santana, Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Doobie Brothers and Journey to name a few. The band's musical professionalism and variety has proven to be a consistent crowd pleaser.
Dirty Bird is available for weddings, private parties, corporate events, residencies and more, and has an extensive repertoire including old standards from the 50's & 60's to current hits from today. The band is equally suited for both young and the more ‘seasoned’ crowds, with the ability to play appropriate music genres and styles for the audience at hand. Dirty Bird will keep you on your feet, regardless of your age or musical taste.
Dirty Bird's authenticity is justified by the collective history of each member, including Cabo Wabo, Disney, Belly Up, Hard Rock Cafe, The Venetian, MGM Grand, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, various national tours, and of course relentless gigging locally and on the road. Lead singer Mike Armenta's guitar & vocal skills are no less than impressive, and his history of live collaborations with mainstream artists prove his experience, including Sammy Hagar, Queen, AC/DC, Toby Keith, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica.
Mike Armenta (vocals, guitar)
Mike's experience has allowed him to play with a great deal of mainstream artists over the years: Toby Keith, Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Chris Slade (AC/DC), Roger Taylor (Queen), Kirk Hammett & Lars Ulrich (Metallica) just to name a few. With uniquely strong vocals and his phenomenal guitar playing, Mike brings it all to the table every time he performs. Alongside Sammy Hagar, Mike started the house band at Cabo Wabo (Los Cabos, Mexico) where he served as the lead for 8 years before moving back to California. He's got over 20 years of live and studio experience in the United States and Mexico, so he's an invaluable addition to Dirty Bird. It's been an honor to have him in the band.
Reggie Norris (guitar)
Reggie's a guitar virtuoso, playing through all musical styles with ease. He's a master of his instrument, and brings a great deal of authenticity to the music we play. Reggie plays lead and rhythm guitar in Dirty Bird. He's an excellent musician and showman, and lends a great vibe to the band. His unique blend of mastery and style make up a great portion of the band musically. One of the founding members of Dirty Bird, Reggie's played locally in San Diego for many years.
Todd Davidson (keys, vocals)
Todd's beginnings started with Classical piano. He later showed interest in Soul/Funk, Traditional Jazz, Brazilian, and Electronic music. A multi-instrumentalist, his strengths include guitar, accordion, ukulele, cavaquinho and harmonica but keyboards are his thing. He has composed hundreds of musical pieces in dozens of styles, many which have been used in radio and television. He has won 2 San Diego Music Awards (Square Circle, 2001 and 2005) for original albums, has co-produced numerous talent events, and has toured the United States, often sharing the stage with national acts. Todd appears regularly on local news programs as Co-Director and pianist of The Cherries Jubilee, is a founding member of The Price of Dope, and is the keyboardist in Dirty Bird.
Kurt Davidson (drums)
Kurt's been behind the drums since 1987, in and out of bands all along the way. His understanding of musical feel and style make him a uniquely solid drummer. During his college years, Kurt toured the Midwest and East Coast most weekends, backing up Gospel and church-based bands, gaining an appreciation and priceless experience of a wide variety of musical styles. Since then, Kurt's played in church bands, worship bands, tribute and cover bands, but none as fun as Dirty Bird. One of the founding members of Dirty Bird, Kurt admits "this is easily the most fun I've had with a group of professional musicians."
Frank Cucinotta (bass, vocals)
Layin' down the Fat Bottom is what Frank is all about. Frank has been playing Pro for over 25 years. He played the Midwest states during the late 70's and early 80's, as well as countless Southern California venues. Frank has played with current and former members of Foreigner, Badfinger, and the L.A. band Hurricane. He's also done studio sessions with the late Warren Weebe who has been on many albums produced by the Hollywood mega producer David Foster. His local work includes the Legends Rock & Roll Revue, the Bishop Brothers, the Rhythmmakers, Black Rose, Cold Cash, Normandy, and The Manhattans. Frank plays Vintage Fender Basses, as well as a Custom F-Bass. His amplification is anchored with Mesa Boogie Amps and Cabinets.
