Matt Guza Creative Page

My name is Matt (age 40) I am looking to find a working position with a cruise line band or a touring band. I prefer to play in a dance band, but any style would be great, as long as we're working. I have a valid passport, and I have no restriction in terms of availability. I can sign a contract for as long as you need. For the past several years I have been living in New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Asheville N.C. I played all over these city playing Blues bands, Duo's, trad jazz ,R+B, rock and country. While in New Orleans, I played in a country/rock band that played everything from Hank to Waylon, Johnny Cash originals and so on. I also played in the Army band for 6 years. I can also sing, play squareneck dobro, dulcimer(mountain and hammer dulcimer) and various folk percussion instruments such as washboard, congas spoons, bones etc. I have movie soundtrack recording experience. I also have some studio and recording experience. I interned at MAJA MEDIA in Philadelphia in 2010 and I studied sound recording and music tech at Community College of Philadelphia.(Graduated with high honors in 2010) While in New Orleans, I performed in a Duo called "Krewe de Guza". I played a one man band setup while my friend Eileen played fiddle. We recorded a vinyl LP on which I composed, produced and played all of the instruments except violin.(see link below) I suggest that you check out the album link first because I think it is good representation of my overall musicality. I consider myself to be a musician first, and drummer second. I am a very musical drummer and I know how to play many different styles and I know how to play what a song calls for. I know how to play dynamically and I know how to LISTEN! I'm professional and easy to work with. If your interested email me with more details. If you would like me to audition, please contact me at ..Matt 570-459-1041 Please send me some links and info about your band
