Henk Van Der Duim Creative Page

I started my musical journey by an early exposure to jazz, dixieland and schlagermusik. I have to blame my parents, and their huge collection of vinyl and cassettes, for this. After I started my musical training at the age of 9, I picked up the guitar shortly afterwards. During this classical guitar training I developed my own feel for sound and timing.

Midst 80’s, I founded, together with Mr. DeVo!, S.N.E.E.K. We managed to release three cassettes and two short films (the Film and What is a chick without lipstick?). We gained a lot of local and regional press coverage and has a small but dedicated following.

After we dediced to pause for a while, I embarked on a new adventure called Boy In Trouble, which was a collaborative project, open to ideas and/or work with other artists. Boy In Trouble released 2 CD’s in the 90’s and they had some kind of reunion for a one off gig on December 23rd, 2005. This gig was broadcasted live on the Internet and has been released as Atmospherics Live 2005.

My production rig grew along with my knowlegde and technique (hopefully…), as working with Mr. DeVo! and other musicians had brought new light to ideas and methods to record and produce in various ways in order to make the equipment work for me instead me working for the equipment (makes any sense?).

After a short sidestep in the Notorious Twins project, an acid-based project – which wasn't exactly my ballgame. I started writing, producing and remixing for others (radio & TV commercials, dance mixes, etc.). After a few years the urge (or itch…) to record my own music again got stronger and stronger and thus ‘Leaves of Grass’ was released. In the end not quite happy with the music and production, but it helped me exploring new directions in my music and methods.

Early 2005 I founded, together with 2 friends, an online music label; ON-Mix Media. A label for artists by artists.
We have released over 130 albums/EPs/Singles at this moment. You can find a release overview here.

Early 2006 I published a book called; Ideas as Opiates. A collection of my lyrics and poems, which I have written over the years. In June 2006 I have remixed a song by the Infadels called Love Like Semtex.

Below you will find an overview of the releases I have been involved with on the ON-Mix Media label.
