Steve Arié Resume
| Steve Arié grew up in Sydney and was a relatively late starter. At the University of New South Wales (where he graduated in 1986 with a BA In psychology) Steve met and fell in love with the double bass. After graduating steve became involved in the Sydney jazz scene and taught himself the double bass. Since that time Steve has had enormous experience playing all styles of music. From traditional through to modern jazz, classical, pop, funk, rock, etc.
Steve has performed with countless Australian greats including D.I.G., Dale Barlow, Bernie McGann, Ten Part Invention, George Washingmachine, Wanderlust, Pardon Me Boys, Frank Bennett, Martin Plaza, Errol Buddle, Dan Barnett and Gyan. Steve has toured both nationally and internationally with highlights including two performances at the prestigious Chicago Jazz Festival, The Hothouse Jazz Club Chicago, The Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts (USA), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland), Ruhrfestspiele (Germany), and jazz and music festivals throughout Australia. | ||
