JOHN SUHR Resume
| John started appearing with THE CAVALIERS, a territorial 16 piece band while in high school.
He went to Auburn University, continuing with the band as vocalist and playing baritone sax, vibraphones, plus some arranging. At age nineteen he wrote and arranged two songs for the band. While with the band, John performed with Warren Covington and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra on several occasions. He retired from the band years later and perforned with his own combo. He wrote and recorded many jingles and original songs in Atlanta and Nashville and later had two natonal pop releases. He has also shared the performing stage with some major entertainers. In 1989 he led the Cavaliers, passing the baton to others, but he kept singing occasionally with other big bands for private parties, including the Sentimental Journey band in Atlanta and with a big band from Montgomery. The Cavaliers invited him to perform a solo vocal concert with them in which they would include the hit songs of the great crooners of the past. John located many of the actual musical arrangements of Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin for the band to perform with him for this special vocal concert. John actively makes demos, writes and produces in his home studio and has many demos to sent to producers, agents etc. He can also send specific MP3 files for consideration. John is a skilled recording arranger, director and producer, can read vocal music and has produced and supervised mixdowns for other artists as well as himself. | ||
