Inspired by music greats such as Hank Williams Sr., Chet Atkins, and Willie Nelson; at the early age of 13, Ross Key picked up his first guitar. By 15, he strapped on his guitar, and auditioned without his parents' knowledge at a local bar near his home landing his first paying weekly gig. He was also teaching music at 15. In 1979, he toured Europe with the Boy Scouts of America, showcasing his musical talent before royalty in Sweden and elsewhere.
His signature song is "Under the Double Eagle", an instrumental. He was told that if he couldn't play that particular song when he picked up his guitar for the first time, he couldn't play well enough to make it anywhere. He currently has a Top 10 song on the ReverbNation's Local Country Music Chart for the state of Virginia, which has been holding there for over 5 weeks. "Saturday Night" was written and composed by Ross Key. RKC is an affiliate member of BMI Nashville.
