      Negri Fine Cases

Luis Negri was born in 1967 in Germany in the city of Herten, in the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen. He came from an Italian family, which moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he grew up.

At the age of 17, he started to build handmade violin cases at a small workshop at his home. At the age of 20 he moved back to Germany where he founded the Company Negri Cases in the city of L├╝beck. For the last 23 years Negri Cases has become a well recognized Company setting the standards for the finest violin cases worldwide.

Negri Cases is proud to have protected a large number of the finest violins worldwide in the hands of the best musicians. From Lord Menuhin to Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Repin, Akiko Suwanai, Joshua Bell and other great contemporary musicians, our cases have traveled and continue to travel many thousands of miles, sharing emotions with the biggest names in the violin world. Many Stradivari, Guarneri, and hundreds of the finest violins in the world, both old and modern, are carried in Negri Cases.

In 2001, Negri Cases opened a fine shop and workshop in the city of Cremona, Italy, called Atelier Negri. In this workshop, only the Diplomat model is produced - by hand and in the best old Italian tradition. The rest of the models continue to be produced in Germany.

To satisfy an always increasing demand, and in order to increase the time invested in the production of each case, Negri Cases opened a high quality factory in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2005. The idea was to increase the handcrafted working time per case, improving the quality and keeping the costs affordable for our customers worldwide. This has been done with great success.

Today, Negri cases produced in Argentina, offer the highest quality ever made, using leather from Argentina which is rightly known as the finest in the world. We have a vertical production process which means that we produce majority of violin components on our own. Handles, metal hardware and accessories are produced by our workers in house at our factory.

Negri Cases have also expanded into other areas such as the production of fine cases for firearms, wine carriers, special trunks, furniture and fine luggage for the fashionable world. In 2012 Negri Cases will start manufacturing high quality products using Carbon fiber and composite materials at a new workshop in the city of Vigo, Spain.
