Hi folks and apologies if this has appeared before. I am an adult learner of the violin. Can anyone help with how to really make a practice session effective. At present I don't have a routine - I just sort of pick a piece of music and then a grade and do whatever TIL I get bored. Is there a way of making practice really effective?

Hi Rob and welcome on Musicians Page! Well, depending by your skill level, the paths to take may be different. This video by Prof. Fitzpatrick on VSM can be helpful: https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/experts/william/... But if you are a real beginner, you may need something more basic... please, let me know if that works for you or need more specific help. All the best, Fabrizio
