Hi,
I am a composer and use sibelius all the time. I have used sibelius since i was 13 years old and put lots of music into it and other programs like logic all the time. My price is not per page but per hour because some pieces have more information on one page than others. therefore, it makes more sense for me to charge an hourly rate, $20/hr. I can give you a discount and perhaps you could send me some samples? If you'd like to see samples of my music, please let me know. you can reach me at genevieve243@gmail.com

Kind Regards,
Cindy Giron

Hi,

Further to your advertisement, I would like to apply for the job of copyist.

I have just graduated from the Royal College of Music (London) with a first class degree studying composition. I produce all of my own scores and parts, which have successfully been used at concerts for the Royal College of Music, and for professional ensembles. I completed a 'Score Processing with Sibelius' module at the RCM and have had works published.

I would work on an hourly basis, charging £15 per hour spent. I would estimate that for orchestral works I could complete 2/3 pages per hour depending on the scale and instrumentation. For chamber pieces I could complete 4/5 pages per hour. I would be more than happy to send a more exact quote after viewing the pieces.

I would use the computer programme Sibelius 6, which can also produce midi realisations and pdf files of the works.

I have attached a pdf file with examples of my work.

If you have any other queries, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Charlotte Harding

Hello Felix,

Came across your post for a copyist and if you are still looking I can most definitely help. I work with Sibelius and have been for the past 15 years. I can handle all the copying and also provide you with the midi files as well as mp3's of all the compositions. Hard copies and PDF's also are not a problem.

I am classically trained so have the knowledge about proper engraving rules concerning the genre of your father's compositions.

The per page rate partially depends on the complexity and readability of the original manuscript. That being said the high end of a project would be $15/page and the low end $10/page.

If any of this sounds like what you are looking for please let's continue the discussion.

I've attached a PDF sample for your perusal. If you have any questions or would like to see more please let me know.

Sounds like a wonderful project and I hope to hear from you.

Hello, my name is Aaron, I saw your job posting for a copyist and I believe I can help. Most copyist services cost a pretty penny, usually around anywhere from $5-$10/bar depending on the instrumentation. Very often they charge by minute of music as well, but I don't think this is quite as accurate a pricing method. I usually have to see the piece to see how I would charge, for example, if it is a solo piece with a simple part, but happens to have many bars with repeats, I don't want to charge you for more than what it is worth. If I were to hazard a guess at a price range, I would say that I charge $1-2/bar for 1-10 instruments, $2-3/bar for 11-30 instruments, and $4-5/bar for 30+ instruments. Of course this could change depending on the complexity of the pieces, but it could be cheaper as well. I work to accomodate the music itself. Its nice to make some money, but I also like to think that I'm helping to realize music and artistry. Call me old fashioned :]

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Aaron Schwartz

Hello!

I would be interested in transcribing these pieces for you. I have extensive knowledge of the various music notation software available, as well as owning Finale 2011, and continual work with Sibelius, and many others. I have arranged and typeset many pieces for chamber ensembles to full orchestras, and many of my arrangements have been performed on concert. In college, I was able to "test out" of the Computer Skills for Musicians class, receiving a perfect score on the exam. My work has been examined by the composer Patrick Burns(http://bandworkspublications.com/), and composer/arranger Tim Olt (http://www.timolt.com/). I am willing to negotiate a price, and will charge only for a minimal amount, and I attached an arrangement of For The Sake Of Our Children (transcribed for Brass Choir) in this message so you can see what work I do. Cover Sheet, audio files and music, all at a negotiable price.

Feel free to contact me! I am flexible!

Hello!
I can do this job without any problem. My estimate per page is 6-10$/ page, depending on the writing density. Contact me for further details, and also please attach a score sample.
I attach you here how my arrangements look like, tell me if you like that.
Thanks!

Dear Mr. Rausch,

I am a professional music copyist and producer (part-time), and I specialize in the kind of work you are seeking. I have 15 years experience in typesetting classical-style handwritten pieces and making MIDI realizations from them, from short chamber works to full-blown symphonies.

If you wish to see/hear samples of my work, then I encourage you to contact me by email to make the arrangements. If you wish, I can also provide references in the form of other clients for whom I've done similar work (all of whom are repeat clients), and I'm confident that they will attest that I've given them high quality sheet music and reasonably realistic sound recordings.

Where pricing is concerned, I can offer you two options. The first is a straightforward hourly rate. My customary rate is $75 per hour, but with a guarantee of at least ten projects I would be able to reduce that to $50/hour. That probably seems like a lot, until you see how fast I work (being an accomplished keyboardist, I get a lot done while on the clock). By way of a benchmark: I recently typeset and recorded a three-movement concert work for string orchestra. The score consisted of 773 measures (with 5 parts, that makes 3865 measures total), laid out in 118 systems, on 59 pages. I typeset it, formatted the score, extracted parts, formatted those, and recorded the entire piece, in 23.5 hours of billable time.

The second option, which my clients usually prefer, is a firm quote, fixed in advance, but it requires that I be sent a copy of the music in advance. Once I have set a price and it is agreed on, the price is immutable unless the client directs changes to work already done.

I cannot quote a "price per page" without having actually seen the pages themselves (number and meter of measures, how many layerings, how many expressions, how busy the music is, etc.).

The deliverables you ask for in your posting, i.e. pdf, Finale, mp3, and .mid files are all no problem.

I estimate that I am available to begin work as early as July 20.

If you are interested in further discussions, I invite you to contact me at davis_brown@msn.com, or on my cell phone at 202-716-4010.

Sincerely,

Davis Brown

I do much work as an engraver/copyist, however, I charge by the measure, not by the page. The price per measure varies depending on how many lines of music there are - from approximately $.50(USD) for a single line to $1.50(USD) for a full symphony - and how complicated the music is, easier music is less. If the music is in score form, I will charge only for the score and provide individual parts at no extra charge. I can provide a MIDI file, an MP3 file and PDF files of all the music - score and/or individual parts, and original Finale Music Program Files, all in electronic format. I can also print out and send paper copies of the music scores and parts. If the parts are well-written and easy to read, I can work from a good photocopy or scanned PDF file sent or emailed to me.

If you would like to send me a list of exactly how much music/how many measures you have in each style I can provide you with a close estimate of my cost. The final cost will be determined by the actual ease or difficulty of the music.

I would estimate I could finish your music in just a couple months. If you need it faster, that may also be possible - though an extra charge may be involved.

Thank you for you consideration of my proposal,

Cheryl Ann Blackley, S & D Music Studio

Hello,

I am an experienced composer and copyist using both Sibelius and Finale. I have been the copyist for the award-winning Cambodian composer, Chinary Ung, for the last several years now and have copied works by other composers such as David Liptak, Robert Morris, Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez, Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon, and Vera Ivanova.

I have some examples on my website, if you would like to peruse them:

http://christopherbrakel.com/engraving.html

My rates are negotiable, depending on the size of the ensemble and the complexity of the music. I would like to see an example of the music before quoting you a price per page.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to get the process rolling. I look forward to hearing back from you!

Best regards,
