Iván Ferrer - Orozco Resume

      Mexico City, Mexico, 1976. His music has been played at several concert series and festivals by soloists and ensembles of Mexico, Spain, Canada, Germany, South Korea, Italy and USA. He has been Fellow of the National Fund for the Culture and Arts and of the National Fine Arts Institute of Mexico, the Council for the Arts and Letters of Quebec, the Camargo Foundation, the Madrid City Council, Europaea Academy, I-Park Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, MacDowell Colony, among other important institutions. He has been guest composer at the Conservatory of Music of Montreal and resident composer of the Contemporary Ensemble of Montreal. As conductor he has done several premieres of new works and he has worked with some of the major orchestras and new music ensembles of his country. As curator he conceived the Ars Automata Project for the V Exhibition of Sound and Interactive Art of InSonora in Madrid, Spain in 2009, and the electronic music project Sonidero performed in Mexico and South Korea. Winner of the annual Call for Scores of the Seattle Latin American Music Festival in 2008, in 2010 of the San Diego New Music and the NOISE Ensemble and in 2011 of the MATA Festival.
