      John Pederson Musician About the artist: John Pederson Trumpet, Cornet, Flugelhorn Soloist/Clinician John Pederson received his B.S in Music Education at Mayville State University at which time he played Jazz and Lead Trumpet which won First Place in Downbeat Magazine's College Big Band Division. Pederson also received an Outstanding Jazz Trumpet Award from the Downbeat Magazine. He received his Master of Music degree in Brass Performance and Music Education from the University of North Dakota. He has recently recorded a CD entitled "Live Performances" which includes trumpet and cornet and flugelhorn performances with many area college and high school bands currently available on www. fargostuff.com. Pederson is also featured on current CD releases of the Deb Jenkins- "Blues Band", Glenn Ginn's- "Swing Street", Harley Sommerfeld's-"Marvels", 42nd Street-"Live at Basie's", and several albums with the "Richard King Big Band." John's newest CD release "Darn That Dream" features his son Ross, who has been the drummer in the world famous University of North Texas "One O'Clock Jazz Band for the past two years, is also currently available at www.fargostuff.com. The International Association of Jazz Educators have presented him with four Outstanding Jazz and Lead Trumpet Citations He has played Lead trumpet with the Fargo Jazz Arts Big Band for the past 14 years, which hosts a yearly concert series and region Jazz clinics with high school bands. John has also been on staff at the International Music Camp for twelve years and is a frequent guest trumpet soloist with many regional high school and college bands. John can be contacted for guest appearances with Jazz Bands and Concert Bands at every level and has the musical charts at each level to be able to accommodate any Junior High through College Band or Jazz Band. He also has the numerous experience at each level to work with groups of all levels for clinics both in Jazz and Classical and Brass Performance. Best to all!
