Fikri Toros Resume
| Fikri Toros was born in Nicosia, Cyprus and graduated from the University of Salford, Manchester.
He is the Director of the Toros Group of Companies in Northern Cyprus. In addition to his professional committments, his love towards classical music and piano playing encourages him to dedicate a substantial amount of his private time to music.
He started his piano training with Yildan Birand in 1997, continued to develop his technique with Yilmaz Taner, and he is currently being trained by Maka Borchashvili. He is a founding member of the Cyprus Turkish Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, and a member of the Kyrenia Chamber Choir. In 2008, Toros took part in the formation of an ensemble, "Cypress Classica" ( www.cypressclassica.com ) , which solely portrays Cyprus Turkish Folk Music in classical arrangements.
Since 2000 he has accompanied a number of vocalists and violinists at various chamber music concerts. Toros has also performed solo recitals in recent years, all of which have been in aid of the Cancer related charital organisations. Toros's most recent recital took place at St.John's Smith Square in London on the 2nd of April 2009, together with his tutor Maka Borchashvili, in aid of the Pro Cancer Research Fund.
