      Drummer - Musician – Educator

Performer
Gary grew up in NYC and has been an active musician since the age of 18. During his career he has performed in percussion ensembles while attending Mannes School of Music, studied ensemble playing at Sounds of Joy, played in a variety of hotel show bands, lounge acts, and rock bands performing a wide range of music spanning such genres as Jazz, Blues, Broadway, Country Western / Today's Country, R & B, Funk and Fusion. In addition to playing in various cover bands, Gary has supported many struggling original artists, i.e., singer/song writers and performed showcases at such notable NYC clubs as Max's Kansas City, CBGB's, Kenny's Cast-a-ways, The Other End, Oluney's, City Limits, and the Lone Star, and various Philly venues such as the NorthStar, Johnny Brenda's, and others. It has been said that Gary has a unique ability to pull sound out of a drum kit and plays with an authoritative edge.

Educator
As an accomplished musician / drummer, Gary is well suited to teach beginners and intermediate students to read and write drum notation, rock grooves, drum charts, rudiments and related skills. Gary studied drums and percussion with several renowned NYC drummer / percussionist educators; Alan Herman - a student of Joe Morello and an established studio musician and Broadway show drummer; the Late Norman Grossman – teacher, educator, former staff member at Mannes College of Music; and Sonny Igoe – teacher/educator of jazz great Peter Erskine, Max Weinberg of Conan O'Brien TV show and Bruce Springsteen fame as well as many other famous drummers. “As an instructor, I will make learning fun while challenging the student to develop and mature as a musician. I will design lesson plans based on the students' interest and current abilities and help the student strive to meet their goals.”

Drum builder
Subsequent to Gary's course in music he worked for notable drum shops, music stores, studios, and drum companies, such as; Frank Ippolito's NYC Professional Percussion Center, studied percussion building from the Late Al Duffy of Hinger Touch-Tone and Pearl Drum Company fame, SIR Studios, Sam Ash Music, Samson Technologies, and Premier Percussion-USA. These opportunities and experiences have contributed to Gary's expertise in drum building and studies of drum sound technology.

Gary currently resides in South Jersey close to both Philly and Atlantic City and performs with local musicians and actively teaching. Available for regional and national acts
