Background vocalist. Writer and Lead vocalist of Omega Band, Alpha Betts, describes it as : "Indie rock, Alt-Rock, Metal, Punk, Garage, Hard Rock, Black Rock, Glam, Psychedelic…The list of subgenres is both never ending and constantly is in our live performances that we are most able to illustrate these ideals with the unrestrained passion and sensuality that comes straight from the soul. "

Presently OmegaBand is in the process of recording a full-length cd.

VOCALIST: A six-piece high energy cover band featuring two female lead vocalists, one male vocalist and a tight rhythm section. Our song selection includes those from artists: Amy Winehouse, Sade, Maxwell, No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, Jamiroquoi, and many others. We have been in frequent rotation in Maryland at: Growlers, Green Turtle...and in Virginia at: Sully's, Nick's Corner Grill, Bungalow, and Kirkpatrick.....and other various venues.

December 2006-March 2007 Root Note:

VOCALIST: Was one of two lead vocalists in the funk and soul cover band from Indianapolis. We covered James Brown, Martha and the Vandellas, Michael Jackson, Average White Band, The Mummies, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Bill Withers, Isley Brothers and more. Mainly performed around various bars in the Indianapolis area.

June 2006- October 2006 Performing and recording Atlanta, GA

VOCALIST: Spent summer in Georgia recording, writing, and performing with an all female R&B group. Set up concert dates, choreography, and photo sessions for group.

Oct. 2006- Jun 2007: Root Note

*One of three lead singers in Root Note which can be seen around Indianapolis performing selections from over five decades of funk,soul, R&B, and more. Selections include: Taste of Honey, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone, En Vogue, The Shirelles.

New Year's Eve 2005: Robert Bradley and Sweetwater Surprise

*Backup singer for the artist's live show, which was recorded and released on Kufala Records in March of 2006.

2005-2006: IU Soul Revue, Director: Nathaniel Fareed Mahluli

* The Revue is a full ensemble within the African American Arts Institute, featuring male and female lines, horns, rhythm section, at times augmented by strings and dancers. Performances feature original compositions along with arrangements of works recorded by the likes of Stevie Wonder; Earth, Wind and Fire; Patti Labelle, Kelly Price, D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, Eric Benet and more.

2004-2005: African American Choral Ensemble, Director: Dr. James Mumford

*With 80 or more voices, the Choral Ensemble delivers a broad repertoire of spirituals, fold forms, traditional and contemporary gospel music, and formally composed works by African American artists.

*Sojourner Small Group of African American Choral Ensemble, Director: Dr. James Mumford, Vocal Coach: Carmund White

In recognition of the significance of group vocalizing in the history of Black gospel music, three gospel groups have formed as subsidiary components of the African American Choral Ensemble: Soul - ACE, a male group; Sojourner, a female group named after abolitionist Sojourner Truth; and God's Progress, a group of young men and women. Whether singing a cappella or with instrumentalists, the groups are renowned for their stirring, inspired performances.

2004- (One Semester) Ladies First, Director: Ruthe Hartke

*IU's premier female a capella group sponsored by the IUAA (Indiana University Alumni Association). The group travels and performs as Alumni representatives all over Indiana. In the fall of 2004, the group received 2nd place in state a capella competition, and went on to compete in regionals.
