Noel Nascimento Resume
| NOEL NASCIMENTO - born in Brazil on december 24th. 1957, started piano playing by his mother, at age of seven. First public appearences as 11 years old child, playing pieces of BACH, MOZART, BEETHOVEN and VILLA-LOBOS. Won several youth competitions in Brazil, until the granting of a scholarship of the german DAAD (German Exchange Academic Service)to aprimorate musical studies in Germany, where he lived from 1979 to 1988, studying at the "Hochschule für Music Westfallen - Lippe" in Münster and the "Hochschule der KÜnste Berlin". In this mean time toke classes by famous german teachers as Wolfgang Leibnitz in Munich, and Klaus Hellwig in Berlin. The most relevant event for the musical developement of NOEL NASCIMENTO was the meeting with CLAUDIO ARRAU in 1979, in Munich. After an special private recital for the master playing a Sonate of Brahms, he became one of a few pianists in the world who had the privilege to have classes by CLAUDIO ARRAU, during the master's tours in Europe.
NOEL NASCIMENTO played as soloist and recitalist in BRAZIL, Venezuela, France, Germany and Spain. In 1998 he was invited to give master classes at the Hart School of Music in Connecticut, United States.
Recordings of CDs includes piano solo works of Villa-Lobos (Suite Floral), Chopin's Fnatasie Opus 49,in f minor, Liszt's h minor Sonate and h minor Ballade. A Duo CD with the celist Ivo Meyer includes works of Camargo Guarnieri (Pequena Suite), Villa-Lobos (Tema e Variações) and Chopin's Sonata for Piano and Violoncelo.
The pianist's repertoire includes works of Bach, Clementi, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Mendelsohn, Grieg, Tchaikowsky, Scriabine, Ravel, Debussy, Fauré,Béla Bartok, Kodály, Albeniz, Granados, as well as chamber music works of all this composers(Duos, Trios, Quartets and Quintets)and concerts for Piano and Orchestra of Bach, Mozart, Beethovenn, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt,Tchaikowsky, Brahms, Mendelsohn, C.M.Weber and R. Strauss.
