HARANAQuartet Creative Page
HARANA, to the Filipinos means "serenade". In the old days, a young Filipino man would express his feelings to a lady he loves by singing a love song accompanied by an acoustic guitar and other instruments late at night. He would start a song outside her house together with other friends and the lady is expected to open her window and look out to listen to his song. This gesture signals a positive acknowledgement for the man thus gives him a big hope for a courtship about to begin.
HARANA signifies love...and for this singing quartet, there is no other way to express sincere love and passion but thru love songs. Brought together by friendship and a common interest for music, after experiences in performing with other musicians, they finally found their way to each other and discovered that their music blend well together... so HARANA came to be in July 2010.
