I've got kinda an odd problem that's happened at two recent gigs, when listening to an audio recording of the gig I'm consistently slightly anticipating the beat. At one of the gigs it was more pronounced.

This usually doesn't happen so I've been trying to analyze why. For one gig my monitor was about 15 feet farther away from me than usual. For the other gig I was hearing myself more in the mains than the monitor. The only thing I can come up with is that I'm hearing myself delayed, and so I am compensating for it by trying to anticipate?

I don't know if that's an accurate analysis, so I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this kind of thing.

It doesn't happen at every gig, so there's gotta be some difference.
