Sarah Vandemoortele Resume

      The Belgian violinist Sarah Vandemoortele started learning the violin at the age of six and already at the age of twelve she became finalist of the Aida International Violin Competition in the Netherlands.
In 2004 she finished 3rd in the national chamber music competition “Ottoboni” with the clarinet trio “Three-O” and she became first laureate in the national competition “Axion Classics”.
Sarah started studying with Jo Vercruysse at the music school of Waregem and from the year 2003 she took private lessons with the renowned international violinist Liviu Prunaru. For her Bachelor studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London she received a bursary from the Robus Foundation in her home country. She has completed her Bachelor studies under the guidance of professor Remus Azoitei and has currently finished her Master Degree in Performance and Research at the Royal Academy of Music, having studied with professor Mayumi Fujikawa.
She performs regularly in Belgium as a recitalist and chamber musician and has taken master classes in Belgium, Germany and Italy and at the Royal Academy of Music with professors such as Rudolf Werthen, Tatiana Samouil, Dan Li, Vadim Tsibulewski, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Thomas Brandis and Zvi Zeitlin.
